Garage Door Security

Your garage may be seen as a weak point by burglars:

A garage door usually has far fewer locking points than a good UPVC door and each locking point is much less robust than other bolts such as on a mortice lock in a wooden front door.  Thieves know that if your house is well protected they may gain easy pickings from raiding your garage or even breaking through to the main house from the garage space.  Those garages worst affected however are usually those that are located away from your main property, such as in a block of garages that serves your whole street.  These areas need heavy protection as there is no-one nearby to watch over them or to notice problems occuring.

There are a number of strong solutions to assist you however:  Garage 'defender' type units can bolt into the ground and lock against the garage door, while others such as the horizontal key-operated bolts shown above can be securely installed on the inside of your garage door to prevent tampering and provide very heavy protection against a forced entry.  Please call or email to discuss the suitability of additional security products for your garage.
